Swindon Wheelers are affiliated to Cycling Time Trials (CTT), which means you can enter any time trial events you want to, provided you pay the entry fee for the event. You’ll also have third party accident protection for those events.
To stay up to date with time trials in the area, check out CTT’s website by clicking here.
If you’re entering events, unless it’s one organised by a local club (e.g. Latton), then we suggest you register with CTT for free. Then you can find and enter any events you want online.
Love the Latton TT series? Then click here for all the latest news, updates and results. Swindon Road Club and Corinium Cycling Club organise this event throughout the summer on Thursday evenings. Year on year, we hope to increase our participation in this TT so we encourage you to give it a go. Once you’ve done it once, you’ll be hooked.
Over 40? Check out the West of England VTTA (Veteran Time Trial Association). It looks like a really great community of riders. You just need to be a member (£20 for single membership) to take part in their events. Get involved!
Remember, time trials are not just for the summer months. Early in the year, there are several time trials for teams of two, three and four riders. Feel free to enter yourself and your mates to show off the club colours. Later in the year, throughout September and October, you have a number of hill climbs to choose from. You just need to sign up on the CTT site.
As a bit of guidance, be sure to sign up early for TTs; start-line entry isn’t always available.
Finally, it’s hoped we can run our own time trial in 2017. Watch this space!
