Club Trips

We really do enjoy cycling, right. And when you see your favourite riders heading to the mountains or zipping through the warmer climes of this world on our TVs, we just want to be there … so, let’s go!

In 2017, you’re welcome to join the club on trips to:

TOUR DE YORKSHIRE

When: 28th April-1st May 2017 (May Bank Holiday Weekend)
Where: Harrogate area B/B or self catering
Organisers: Paul Wood and Howard King (please contact them for more information)

Description: Paul and Howie are taking vehicles up to Yorkshire for this exciting event. The cost will depend on the number of people interested (in the region of £150 per person). The group will leave on Friday 28th and watch the Tour de Yorkshire on the Saturday, Sunday and Monday (including stages near Harrogate). The group will return to Swindon on the evening of Monday 1st May.

Additional information: There is the option to take part in the Maserati Yorkshire Sportive (tbc).

TOUR DE FRANCE

When: 18th-22nd July 2017
Where: Near Alpe D’Huez. Hotel booked for 10 beds (3 already taken)

Description: Fancy riding mountains in the Alps and traversing the flatter Bourg valley? Come on then. Pack your bags. We’re off. Oh, and you’ll see two stages of the Tour de France! Paul and Howie are taking transport but flying is another possibility. Without flights included, this trip is approximately £200 per person.

Additional information: Those in the cars are likely to leave on Sunday 16th or Monday 17th July to reach the destination by the 18th. You’ll return to Swindon on Sunday 23rd July.

MAJORCA

When: 23rd-29th September 2017
Where: Porto Pollenca
Organisers: Steve Broadway and Steve Dutton (please contact them for more information)

Description: The club has booked seven twin rooms in a quiet sea front hotel (14 spaces in total). Eight places are filled, so please get in touch soon if you’d like to experience where some of the world’s top cyclists put in their winter miles. There’s a fantastic selection of rides and the weather is always pretty good. You’ll need to book your own flights with the overall cost expected to be about £400.

Additional information: We’ll be celebrating Sue Dutton’s 60th birthday on this trip with a ride to the famous Sa Colobra. Don’t miss that one!
